Massimo Luongo has broken his silence after being left out of QPR's starting XI for the last two games.

The Australian international in Canberra with the rest of the Socceroos preparing for World Cup qualifiers against Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh this week, is expected to feature for his country.

A shock nominee for the prestigious Ballon d'Or competition last month, back in west London Luongo has felt the cold winds of November after Neil Warnock took temporary charge following Chris Ramsey's dismissal.

It was former Tottenham coach Ramsey who discovered the midfielder when both were at White Hart Lane. It was indeed Ramsey who bought him from Swindon in the summer .

Big Down Under: Massimo Luongo

Luongo admits the switch at the top has alerted him to the danger of being left out in the cold.

“I probably had a discussion with a few people saying, how could this turn out for me?" he asked. "Could it be a good thing or a bad thing?”

“You can’t really do much to be honest. If you’re doing well in training, if you’re playing well, then you’ve done everything you can, which I’ve done.

“So I’ve just got to wait for him to pick the team."

Warnock was the man who steered Rangers to the Championship title in 2011, and as Robert Green told GetWestLondon already, the current incumbent is a lot different to Ramsey.

“It’s obviously a different set-up, different type of training and real shift in the team,” Luongo said.

“But it comes with the job – you go through a lot of managers, especially in the Championship. You just get on with it. I just keep doing what I’m doing, and if he wants to pick me then he can pick me."

“I’ll still do my own thing regardless, in training or in the game.”
