The wait for Conor Washington goes on.
The QPR striker vowed to get the better of Dean Smith and Romaine Sawyers for the first time on Friday night.
As millions witnessed, it turned to ashes for the £2m forward as Brentford ran the show from start to finish.
Bees gaffer Dean Smith delighted in a 2-0 win cemented when Sawyers struck first time to condemn Washington and Rs to a third home reverse of the season - and this time in front of Sky TV cameras.
Even though, Washington at Peterborough failed to beat Walsall’s then Smith and Sawyers in seven goes, scoring blank in the lot, the Bees midfielder reckons his luckless adversary did to well to fetch up at Loftus Road in January.
Sawyers said: “I think it’s just coincidence he’s yet to win against us.
“He’s a good player and it shows there’s talent in League One, and he’s at a big club and it’s time for him to kick on.
“I’m not offering any consolation - we wanted the bragging rights though, and I wish him the best for the rest of the season, except when he and QPR are at Griffin Park, because we want to do the double.”
Rangers visit Brentford for their third-last game of the campaign on April 22.
