Richard Dunne has proved his doubters wrong, says QPR keeper Rob Green.

The former Everton, Manchester City and Aston Villa defender was dropped from the side following a poor start to the season by the Hoops.

However, Dunne was restored to the starting XI two months ago and starred in Saturday's vital victory against fellow strugglers Burnley.

Green said: "Dunney's been brilliant. I think he got singled out for criticism in games where we took heavy defeats earlier on in the season, maybe unfairly.

"But he's played a lot of games and I think we all know what Dunney's about. If the ball's coming to him, it's going to get cleared. He can seemingly block shots that other people can't. He's fantastic in that respect.

"He's fantastic to play behind. As a professional you maybe look for different things than a fan would in terms of reliability, consistency and Dunney certainly has that."
