James Perch appears to have escaped serious injury - despite limping off in discomfort just 14 minutes into the 2-2 draw with Brighton on Tuesday night.
The QPR right-back went down after an innocuous tackle and was eventually replaced by Gabriele Angella, with Nedum Onuoha shifting across to replace Perch.
The word from the Rs camp is the man signed from Wigan in the summer on a free is unlikely to feature against Bristol City on Saturday, but has no lasting damage that includes ligament damage.
Perch has been in the wars since his switch south.
The 30-year-old has picked up six yellow cards and missed two games through suspension including one dismissal at Derby when Hoops were beaten 1-0 on November 30 that proved the final nail in the coffin for Chris Ramsey.
The ex-boss was fired the following day but earlier suggested the move had taken more out of Perch than anticipated.
Ramsey said: "He’s an honest lad and he’s working as hard as he can,” said the former coach. “Sometimes it is a change of environment and what manager asks you do to another manager.
“I have no doubt he’s going to be an asset to QPR."
