QPR defender Alex Baptiste says that he's hoping to build on his run in the team in an attempt to move the Hoops up the table.

The defender has had an extended run in the team due to the injuries to Nedum Onuoha, Grant Hall and James Perch, and says that he's keen to take every opportunity he gets to impress.

Speaking to the club's website about his run in the team, he said: "I feel like I’ve done okay so hopefully I can continue with my performances.

"Obviously a month ago I wasn’t playing and we were doing very well so you do start to think how I am going to get into this team, but during a season injuries and other things happen that give you an opportunity."

QPR have enjoyed a largely positive run of form at Loftus Road this season, and Baptiste says that it's the "old-school" atmosphere which makes it hard for the opposition.

He said: "It’s been good. I really like the setup at Loftus Road with how tight it is and how it allows our fans to get on top of the opposition – it makes for a really good atmosphere.

“I just hope we can now climb up this league – for me there’s nothing to fear and I feel we have a good chance of having a really good season.”
