Clint Hill believes it would only add to the ‘ridiculous’ mayhem of manager sackings if QPR were to get rid of Harry Redknapp.

The under-fire boss is winless in four with stories circulating that deposed Swansea coach Michael Laudrup is waiting in the wings to take his job, although the 66-year-old remains confident his position isn't under threat.

But the stalwart defender insists any change at the first hiccup would serve only to unsettle a squad facing Leeds Saturday lunchtime.

A couple of miles away, Fulham are into their third manager of the campaign, but Hill has reservations.

“Obviously, Fulham have gone down that route and think they’ve done the right thing." he said. "Only time will tell, but we’ve got to concentrate on ourselves.

Under fire: QPR boss Harry Redknapp has come in for criticism

“It’s not a given that if you change your manager results will improve.

“It could be unsettling. Players in that squad will wonder whether the new manager fancies me?

“It’s a bit weird isn’t it? Two or three defeats and you’re going to get the sack seems to be the nature of this ridiculous sport at the moment.”

From the inside, the 35-year-old reckons all speculation concerning Redknapp will disappear if Hoops beat Leeds, while at the same time rekindling promotion ambitions.

He added: “People have a little bit of failure and everybody wants to jump on their back and get rid of them – but I can’t see that happening here."
