Nedum Onuoha believes the competition for places in QPR's squad has improved since Chris Ramsey took over from Harry Redknapp.

The interim boss has recalled players like Shaun Wright-Phillips and Adel Taarabt, who had been frozen out under the previous regime.

Ramsey, unlike Redknapp, has put his faith in young players in the academy like Darnell Furlong and Reece Grego-Cox being given a chance in the first-team.

Man in charge: Chris Ramsey

And the defender believes that has brought about an increase in intensity on the training ground.

He said: “One of the differences from the previous manager to this one (Ramsey) is more people feel involved.

“The consequence is more competition for places and I think a few months ago a few people didn't stand a chance.

“Come game-day, the manager is going to pick the best team who can get the three points. Although it does change he picks it on what works on Saturday.”
