Clint Hill has asked Santa for three points at Arsenal on Boxing Day as his Christmas present this year.

The QPR defender came off the bench to play an hour of Saturday’s thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Presents are usually opened on Christmas Day but Hill is hoping he can save one gift for the Emirates after the main festivities have taken place.

He said: “It will be a difficult place to go, we’ll be the underdogs as we are pretty much all season, but that suits us fine. It’s Christmas, so Santa might give us three points!”

Hill was thrown into the breach against the Baggies following an injury to Yun Suk-young and watched Charlie Austin net a superb hat-trick to seal victory at Loftus Road.

He added: “I thought it was a positive game. Both teams had a go and went hell-for-leather for the three points. We got the luck and Charlie got his hat-trick.

“I think it [the match ball] is in Charlie’s bag, it’s all signed, sealed delivered.

"He’ll box that up and put it up somewhere and it’ll be a nice little memory for him. He fully deserves it.”

Meanwhile, Hoops star Joey Barton was never worried about the outcome on Saturday despite the Baggies going two goals in front.
