QPR midfielder Martin Rowlands went for scans today on a cruciate ligament injury picked up at Derby.
The Hoops claimed their first away victory in 12 attempts courtesy of first-half strikes from Wayne Routledge and Mikele Leigertwood, but are almost certain to have lost captain Martin Rowlands for the rest of the season.
The influential midfielder was stretchered off after a nothing tackle from Derby's Miles Addison and went for scans today to determine the extent of a cruciate ligament injury.
Paulo Sousa has the consolation of Liam Miller on loan from Sunderland to slot into Rowly's slot, but the Rs boss admitted it was a bitter blow to have lost his captain.
He said: "I want to dedicate this victory to Martin Rowlands. He always wants to win, he is a fighter, our captain and our leader. We could have lost him for the season. We think there is a problem in one of his knees, we will know more later."
