QPR coach Chris Ramsey believes a second chance has been handed to Jay Emmanuel-Thomas - providing the striker takes it.

The 24-year-old Londoner failed to cut it at Arsenal where he made just a solitary first-team performance - and even then was subbed off in an FA cup tie against Stoke more than five years ago.

Since when the man known as JET has been around the Championship/League One block with Doncaster, Blackpool and Bristol City.

It was with the latter where he was a big hit last season helping to elevate the Robins from League One with 12 goals in 36 appearances.

But he got a lukewarm reception from his new QPR coach after Hoops exited the Capital Cup to Carlisle in August.

However, with five goals in eight appearances, despite a blank in the 1-0 defeat to Brentford on Friday night (see updated fans gallery above), Ramsey insists hard yards and liberal sweat could see JET back to the big time.

He said: “Jet's really pulled himself and worked out it’s hard work that’s going to show his talent. It’s a credit to him for getting his head screwed on.

“If I’m him, I’m him, I’m thinking I can go on score loads of goals and get myself in the Premier League either with QPR or with another club.

“If everyone here’s got that ambition it will lift the club where we want it to be.”
