Sandro needs to repay the faith shown in him by QPR by giving his all to a tough Championship campaign - the lowest tier in the midfielder’s seven-year career.
That's the verdict from Chris Ramsey. However, coach and club are still waiting for the Brazilian’s new work permit.
Ramsey claims there is light at the end of the protracted paper trail, and one he hopes will shine brightly before the transfer window closes.
In the event of a club coming in for a man who cost Rs £6m-plus from Tottenham last term, the gaffer also hinted he will bite the hand off a decent offer that lightens the club's wage bill.
The Brazil international is on a reported £60k a week, but ironically it’s the size of his salary and transfer that qualifies him for a new permit.
Ramsey said: “We’re in contact. His last phone message was he’s fit and training and ready to be involved.
“As long he’s up to fitness he’s straight into the squad. But yes, any player who has played in the Premiership has his eye on it. “However, he’s a QPR player who stuck their neck out to bring him here and pay a lot of money for him.
“As long he’s not wanted by another club that will ease the burden on our club, I’m sure he will do his best for us.
“I would expect him back before the transfer window closes, but these red tape things take time."
Sandro made only 17 appearances for Rs last term, after injury and the work permit row limited his availability.
