Lee Hoos hopes QPR supporters will give young players encouragement - rather than booing them like the chief executive witnessed last season.

Hoos picked up fans giving it in the neck to promising Cole Kepekawa after the 20-year-old came on as sub against Charlton in the 2-1 win on April 9 and made a couple of mistakes.

Hoos finds it ironic that supporters want the club to breed a new generation of talent, but then sometimes don’t give burgeoning talent the encouragement they need to thrive.

Hoos told ww.qpr.co.uk: “People say we’re a development club, and we should give young players a chance. If you’re going to give young players a chance, you’ve got to be behind that player and supportive of them.

“Cole Kepekwa came on in one of his games, and he got booed a couple of times after a bad pass, and that kills a player, it just kills them.

“They will make mistakes but you have to be encouraging and give them the environment that allows them to grow.”
