Harry Redknapp has challenged Armand Traore to make QPR's left-back berth his own.

With Yun Suk-Young set to spend up to six weeks on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage, Traore has a chance to stake a claim for the spot.

The Senegalese star has not started a game since the defeat to West Ham at the beginning of October and faces competition from Clint Hill.

But boss Redknapp said: "It’s up to Armand Traore to step up to the plate. He’s got to push himself to do that, start performing and get in the team. He’s got an opportunity if he wants to take it.

“We’ve lost our left-back so Clint Hill is not going to play two games either. He’s a fit lad, but it’s not easy when you’re 35 or 36."

Redknappp will shuffle his back for two games in less than 72 hours, with a crucial home clash against Crystal Palace following this afternoon's trip to Arsenal.
