QPR may be struggling for results - but it's not because of fitness.

Boss Ian Holloway is grateful for the super-fit squad he inherited from former manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Hoops have lost four on the bounce since Ollie won his initial game back at Loftus Road against Norwich City.

The latest was the 1-0 reverse at home to Derby on Wednesday. Aston Villa are next up and another home fixture - this time on Sunday with a midday kick-off.

Nevertheless, the new manager has praised the set-up he took on when JFH was handed his P45 at the beginning of November.

“Jimmy is a fantastic manager," Holloway said.

"The squad's been brilliantly prepared the whole season. For that, I thank him.

"I'm trying to tweak them but to them it's a massive change. They've lost their boss so that's different.

Dejected: Pawel Wszolek mirrors recent results

“They don't know where they stand. That's different. What I want to get them to feel is – I didn't want to change the away form. It wasn't that bad, but because they did so well in that different shape.”

The three-time promotion winner said his responsibility now lies in helping the side be more fruitful in front of goal by utilising the array of attacking talent at the club.

The west London outfit currently have the Championships third worst attack having scored less than a goal a game.

Holloway added: “I need to give them an understanding of where they are and when they can attack from that.

"Our attacking options are different to the ones I've had before. I've got my head around what people can do and where I may put them to make them shine."
