QPR’s manager will not allow players a Christmas do - not least because of the rise of camera phones.

Harry Redknapp insists players have summer to celebrate and let their hair down, but it’s noses to the grindstone over the festive period starting with Burnley at home on Saturday.

The coach was none too enamoured with boozy sprees when he was in charge at Tottenham, and has so far resisted the calls from his Rs squad.

Redknapp is only too aware that a shandy or two over the limit leaves his player prey to the paparazzi.

He said: “It’s more aggravation than it’s worth.

“There is a Christmas do on Monday for the staff behind the scenes - but that’s just a meal.

"But you’ve only got to be closing your eyes and someone’s got a pic of you looking drunk, and everyone’s got camera phones.”

With three games in a week, Redknapp is going easy in training for those who played in two of them so far while monitoring energy reserves.

But has declared everyone fit including full-back Yun Suk-Young who came off for the second time in a week when he made way for Armand Traore in the 1-0 midweek defeat at Swansea.
