QPR boss Chris Ramsey was defiant as his side were booed off following the 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday

The Loftus Road faithful conveyed their disappointment at various stages in the stalemate, but the most notable occasion came after Ramsey’s decision to substitute striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas with attacking midfielder, Leroy Fer, leaving no recognisable striker on the pitch.

The change was greeted with a chorus of “You don’t know what you’re doing.”

Nonetheless, Ramsey stood by his decision.

Men on the touchline: Chris Ramsey and Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal

“My thought [behind the sub] was that I was bringing on Dutch International, I wasn’t bringing on a youngster. I brought on a proven goalscorer.

Ramsey added: Jay’s getting back into it. He got a knock last week and he lasted as long as I thought.”

“Obviously nobody wants to be taken off, but I thought he [JET] played his part well and I thought Leroy played his part well when he came on. People are entitled to their opinion, that’s why you get the stick you do. “

Subbed: Jay Emmanuel-Thomas

Reflecting on the boos at full time, Ramsey said:

“It doesn’t help me, but at the end of the day it’s part of being sat in the manager’s chair.

“One week you do know what you’re doing, one week you don’t.”

“All the fans entitles to opinion, but rest assured, we’re trying our best to make them happy.”
