QPR's beaten head coach might be hearing from the FA after he laid into referee Darren Bond as Hoops succumbed 3-2 to Barnsley.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was incandescent after the free-kick awarded against Hoops that led to the Tykes equaliser for 2-2, and was fit to be tied when a Barnsley shove went unpunished for them to notch the winner in the 89th minute.

Rangers lost their unbeaten record, and JFH lost his cool at the match official, who also sent off defender Grant Hall five minutes into added time.

"The first half was theirs; second half was ours, but if the referee is going to give those type of decisions, then he is not fit enough to whistle in the Championship," Hasselbaink raged.

Battle: Nedum Onuoha in the thick of things

"They were awarded a very soft free-kick, because if you look back he hasn't given those free-kicks during the game. So you tell me if the second goal is a push, why was it not a push for the third goal? You understand?

"It's been taken away by a silly decision.

"We are all saying we need to protect the referee and players are not allowed to surround him, and it happens because of referees like this.

"He makes it bad for other referees - the good ones - and I'm not someone who complains about decisions.

"But today? Come on! It was like the wild, wild west in there. Ridiculous! I'm going to speak to the assessors.

"They scored (1-0) out of a set piece and that was disappointing. We could have done better after 2-1 (for Rangers) but it wasn't to be.
