QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is thankful to be focused on football after his side beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage.

The Rangers manager was caught in a Daily Telegraph sting midweek which caused considerable doubt over his future.

But goals from Idrissa Sylla and Conor Washington sandwiched Tim Ream's second half strike to give QPR the win on Saturday.

And the former Middlesbrough and Chelsea player says he is glad to be thinking about football again.

“It’s been a very difficult couple of days. Very difficult," he said.

“But I must say that the support that I’ve had from the club, from family, from friends, from people around me has been immense. I have to thank them for that.

“Also the players, and the support of them. In the last couple of days we have been able to concentrate on the game and that has been a good outlet.

“Look, it’s happened. But we needed to concentrate on the game. If you are focused on something totally different, it does not matter what it was. It was a focal point, and that helped.

“Yes, we haven’t won here for a long time. So it’s a very special day for the supporters, very special. It’s three points. We need to take this and bring into our other games. That’s what we need to do.”

Fulham were awarded two penalties by referee Lee Mason, one in the sixth minute, and another in the 95th minute.

The first, a foul on Ragnar Sigurdsson from a Fulham corner, was given in a season where referees were told to crack down on defending from set-pieces.

Stoke City know all about that rule, but the Rs' manager was left dumbfounded by the decision to give the hosts a penalty.

“I must say, on the game itself, we knew that they were a very good side. We knew that they would create. We wanted to stop them in their half," he added.

“Yes, we made a few mistakes. But I had a feeling that in the game at a certain time, I was fighting everybody: journalists, supporters, public and the referee, with his decisions.

“I’ve not seen the first penalty if it was a tangle or a pull. But I know the rule. Certain referees give it and certain referees don’t. So it depends what kind of referee you have on the day.

“But then in the second half, that penalty in the last couple of minutes is just ridiculous. It’s just ridiculous. The player did not even touch him, not even close.

“So at the moment, I’m fighting everybody.”
