Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has revealed QPR have recalled Ben Gladwin from his loan spell at Bristol City to take a look at him ahead of next season.

The 23-year-old attacker’s time at Ashton Gate was overshadowed by a knee injury that restricted him to just one appearance for the Robins.

Hoops boss Hasselbaink was not happy to leave Gladwin without the prospect of playing any football in the remaining eight Championship matches.

Rangers can now select the former Hayes & Yeading star for any of their final fixtures and boss Hasselbaink sees it as a good opportunity to start planning for next term.

“Ben wasn’t playing at Bristol City so it is better that he is here with us,” Hasselbaink told the club’s official website.

“We are heading into the last month or so of the campaign, and he is going to feature so that we can integrate him ahead of next season.”

Gladwin was signed by the Hoops from Swindon Town last summer but has so far failed to break into the side at Loftus Road.

Hasselbaink is looking to re-shape the squad during the close season and is auditioning Gladwin for a role in his plans in the coming weeks.
