QPR will prepare for the next Championship campaign with a nine-day training camp in the Netherlands starting July 3.

Then Rangers take on boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's former side Burton Albion away on July 26, with a 7.45pm kick-off scheduled.

Before that, Dutchman JFH will oversee two friendlies in his homeland, yet to be announced while Hoops stay in Ermelo in Holland during the nine-day training camp.

Ermelo is in central Holland and handlily placed 29 miles east of Amsterdam, as well as within easy reach of most of the Eredivisie sides in the country’s top flight.

Rs director of football Les Ferdinand and JFH are determined to put the fiasco of last season's close-season tour to Italy behind them.

“Last year we were let down by the promoters,” Ferdinand said.

“You want to make sure you’re pre-season is good, and it was a shambles last year."

Hasselbaink echoed how vital the period is from return to debut date on August 6 and first Championship game is.

The coach added: “That part of the year is the foundation; it’s team bonding and building a special team, and that’s why we are starting now to prepare now.”
