Harry Redknapp held up his hands and admitted neither side deserved to win at Loftus Road this afternoon.

Rangers were held 0-0 by managerless Crystal Palace in a game where chances were at a Premium.

Jason Puncheon hit the upright for the visitors and Richard Dunne had a header cleared off the line for Hoops, but there was little else to excite the bumper 18,011 crowd.

Rs manager reckoned two struggling sides cancelled each other out.

Harry said: "You're always looking to win at home, but I can't say we deserved to win. They've got three lightning quick players who were always looking to break on the counter, and we thought it might be a tough game and, it turned out to be a tough game.

"But we put in a shift and kept a clean sheet."

The Palace model is clearly something Rs manager covets, and he made it plain he needs a forward in the transfer window who might have the sprint speed of Wilfried Zaha or Yannick Bolasie, who caused Rs problems all afternoon.

"You need pace on the counter if you're going to do well away, and we're not blessed with it," explained Redknapp. "So we're looking to do a loan deal from either abroad or get a favour from one of the teams at the top with an excess of players."
