QPR boss Harry Redknapp is ready to throw his hat into the ring for out-of-favour Nikica Jelavic - whose Everton side ironically face Hoops in the FA Cup tomorrow.

The Rangers manager admitted he was a fan of the Croatian, who like his pal at Rs, Niko Kranjcar, is desperate to play for his country in this summer’s World Cup.

Everton's Roberto Martinez has already revealed two other bids for Jelavic, but Harry is ready to go one better than previous QPR boss Neil Warnock, who tried to land the forward two years ago.

Redknapp said: “Jelavic? I like the look of him but I suspect others do as well. Everyone gets a value so we’d have to see.”

Rangers are desperate to add to their firepower in the January transfer window, with strikers Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson struggling for full fitness and Charlie Austin asked to plough a lone furrow in the final third.
