QPR have fingers crossed Niko Kranjcar is back in time to face Leeds next Saturday.

The midfielder was ruled out of the 1-0 defeat at Charlton with a hamstring strain, but assistant boss Kevin Bond is hopeful the Croatian international only needs a week to recover.

Bond added: “Hopefully the injury is not serious, and we hope he will Niko will be fit for Leeds.”

However, Bond confirmed defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto was dropped after last week’s 3-1 home defeat to Reading.

Nedum Onuoha came in with Clint Hill moving to left-back in place of the Spurs loanee.

“We made a change to play a different way,” explained Bond.
