Queens Park Rangers ace Conor Washington was hailed by Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill, following the 2-0 win over Norway on Sunday night.

Washington grabbed the second goal of the night in the first half in Belfast, after Jamie Ward had put them ahead very early on.

And O'Neill is very happy with his front men, notably their work-rate and movement.

"They (Washington and Ward) both give you that energy at the top end of the pitch. Conor likes to fight for the ball and Jamie is the same," said the boss.

"When you have that energy the rest of the team follows on. We spoke about using their movement to get between their two centre backs which we felt was their weakness."

"Jamie set the tone from the off and the rest of the team followed suit.

"He won his first header, then there was some great link-up play (including Washington) and it's a superb finish for the goal.

"We've played five games, have kept four clean sheets and the only team to score against us are the world champions.

"We've scored 10 goals at home so there are a lot of positives in this campaign.

"It was a fantastic performance from all 14 players who played."
