A disappointing performance from Queens Park Rangers saw them draw at home to a winless Blackburn side.

First Half

The home side started poorly and deservedly found themselves one-nil down after the 14th minute.

A deep Conway corner appeared to be an easy catch for Alex Smithies, who was making his first start in the Rangers goal, but under the challenge of Shane Duffy, was beaten to the ball, allowing the young Irishman to bundle home from a yard out.

Buoyed by their goal, winless Blackburn began to dictate play and could have easily doubled their lead before the half term break. First, Craig Conway stung the palms of Smithies with a powerful drive from 25 yards. Shortly after, the classy Jordan Rhodes spun off the back of Angella, and after a good first touch was certain to score, but for a last ditch challenge by Massimo Luongo.

Serious: Blackburn's Tommy Spurr is down and out inside the first two minutes

In addition to playing some great football, Rovers were working extremely hard off the ball and forcing QPR to play it long, much to the displeasure of the home crowd.

And the away almost made the Rangers fans even angrier as they almost made it two on the stroke of half time. Superb work by Jonas Olsson on the left saw him find and unmarked Rhodes in the box, but his effort was saves expertly by Smithies.

Second Half

Presumably rocketed at half time, the home side sprang out of the blocks in the second half and drew level with their first effort of the half. A long ball was controlled well by Austin, and after seeing his first effort saved, The QPR talisman fired home to bring Rs level.

Within minutes, Blackburn regained the lead. Inexplicable defending allowed Jordan Rhodes to stroll through the QPR defence, and after holding off Nedum Onuoha, calmly prodded the ball into the bottom corner.

The Rangers captain left it to ten minutes from time to atone for his previous error as the big defender made the game all square once again. He connected powerfully to a floated Dan Tozser corner to head past Jason Steele and salvage a draw for the home side.
