Chelsea players are far more likely to see red when they're on the road than when they're at home, according to new figures released by the Trinity Mirror Data Unit.

The Blues have had 24 players sent off in away Premier League games over the last 10 seasons.

They've had just 13 sent off in games at Stamford Bridge though - a difference of 11 reds, the joint fourth largest in the division.

This isn't just a problem for Chelsea.

Away sides have been on the receiving end of 60 per cent of all the red cards shown in Premier League matches over the last 10 seasons.

A total of 595 reds have been dished out since the start of the 2006-07 campaign, with 239 going to the home team and 356 going to the away team.

No club has as big a difference between their home and away red cards as Newcastle United.

The Magpies have had 25 players sent off while on the road, the joint highest total in the league, compared to just 10 at home - a difference of 15 reds.

Sunderland have the next biggest difference with 11 players having been sent off in home games compared to 25 away.

Arsenal have had 11 sent off in home matches compared to 24 in away matches.

Manchester United have had seven players sent off in league games at Old Trafford and 19 sent off in away matches.

Only two of the Premier League's ever-presents haven't seen more players sent off in away games than they have in home games.

Everton have had 12 players sent off at home and 11 sent off away, while Aston Villa have had 12 sent off at home and 12 sent off away.
