Leigh Mills has pleaded with Brentford FC boss Andy Scott to sign former Chelsea, Blackburn, West Ham and Fulham centre-back Ian Pearce.

Trialist Pearce's future is up in the air, having played in last Tuesday's win over Staines but failing to appear for Saturday's 1-1 draw with Watford.

Pearce's Brentford future, which is likely to depend on his wage demands, should became clearer if he plays at Hampton & Richmond Borough tonight.

And Mills, who is loan at Griffin Park from Spurs for a season, for one would love to see him sign.

He said: "I've come to Brentford to learn, and there would be nobody better to learn from than someone who has played in the Premiership for as long as Ian has.

"He has still got that quality and leadership, as we saw against Staines."
