Having finally moved into their new home, Edgware Town are aiming for a top 10 finish in their first season back in senior football.

The original club folded seven years ago after being booted out of their White Lion Ground, but reformed this summer and were placed in Spartan South Midlands League Division One.

After playing their first few games at Barnet's old Underhill ground, Edgware made their debut at their new home on Saturday – former home of Kingsbury Town, Silver Jubilee Park.

Daniele Quattromini scored the historic first goal for Edgware at their new ground before adding a second, but visitors Chesham United Reserves did not read the script and hit back with three goals in the last 25 minutes to win 3-2.

Club secretary Daz Moors said: “It was a shame to lose 3-2 after being 2-0 up and playing well for 65 minutes, but it was quite an occasion and we got a decent sized crowd down – we hope they liked what they saw and will keep coming back.

“Hopefully we will have a settled squad by Christmas and push on to achieve our aim of a top 10 finish and a decent cup run. Although we were knocked out of the Middlesex Charity Cup on Tuesday night, we are in the quarter finals of the Middlesex Premier Cup.”

Quattromini was on target again on Tuesday night to make it three goals in two games, but it was Rayners Lane who instead progressed in the Charity Cup with a 2-1 win.
