Chelsea maintained their five-point cushion at the top of the Premier League with a narrow victory at West Ham.

Eden Hazard headed in the only goal of the game at Upton Park to keep the Blues clear of Manchester City in the title race.

City's win at home to Leicester means there is no change at the summit this evening and Hazard knows this was an important victory.

He said: “It was one big battle against a good team with good players. We had a lot of opportunities and they had a lot of opportunities.

“It’s always difficult when you don’t score a second goal and kill the game. Today, one goal was enough but it is not the best way.

“Defensively and with our goalkeeper we were very strong.”

The win sees Jose Mourinho keep his incredible record going against the Hammers, with the Special One having won all eight of his Premier League encounters with the Londoners.
