Diego Costa showed no signs of the injury that threatened to rule him out of today’s trip to Merseryside as the Spanish international hit a brace in Chelsea’s pulsating 6-3 Premier League victory over Everton.

The summer signing has made a blistering start to his Blues career and kept up his scoring spree by finding the net for the third match on the trot to help Jose Mourinho’s side maintain their 100 per cent record at the start of the new season.

Chelsea skipper John Terry said the former Atletico Madrid hitman was largely to thank for the three points at Goodison Park.

Terry said: "He's been brilliant. I played against him in the Champions League and realised he was a top player but when you see him every day he's got everything.

“He's got off to a flying start with us and long may it continue because that was the difference today."
