Chelsea were given an almighty scare at Shrewsbury Town before booking a Capital One Cup quarter-final spot.

The Blues had Didier Drogba and an own goal by Jermaine Grandison to thank for edging past the brave League Two outfit 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Drogba, who netted Chelsea's goal against Manchester United just over 48 hours previously, gave Jose Mourinho's side the lead shortly after the second half started.

But with less than quarter of an hour remaining, the hosts were level when substitute Andy Mangan - who had been on the pitch for little more than a minute - poked home after a goalmouth scramble.

However, the Blues were not to be th victim of an upset as Willian came off the bench to put in a cross that Grandison headed past his own keeper under pressure from Drogba.

Afterwards Mourinho criticised Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah for their dismal showing as he hoped they would give him a selection headache for the west London London with QPR on Saturday.

But Mourinho said: “I love problems. I love problems of choices. And, it is easy to choose my team for Saturday. Easy. They didn't create me big problems.”
