QPR are set for their first official pre-season game of the new season tomorrow as they travel to the ABAX stadium to take on Peterborough United (3pm).

This will be the first opportunity for the fans to travel and see the progress being made by Ian Holloway and his team as they prepare for the beginning of the Championship season at the beginning of August.

But what can we expect from Saturday’s match?

The game is set for a 3pm kick-off, however rather than playing the traditional 90 minutes of football, it’s expected that the teams will compete in four periods of 30 minutes, to give both managers the opportunity to utilise their respective squads to the maximum.

Josh Scowen is expected to make his debut for the Hoops, as Ollie starts to formulate his preferred system and starting 11 ahead of the new season. It’s also expected that a number of the squad players who featured in Wednesday’s 4-2 defeat against Fulham, will get the chance to feature at some stage as they look to force their way into the manager’s plans.

It will be also be a quickfire reunion as Michael Doughty will get the opportunity to play against his former club just weeks after completing his move to the Posh. The midfielder will be looking to give the home fans a first glimpse of what they can offer, while also looking to make a point to Holloway and Co. about what he has to offer. You wouldn’t be surprised to see the midfielder get on the score-sheet against the Hoops.
