QPR under-23s boss Paul Hall says he's hoping his young stars will be knocking on the door of the first team after a great start to the season.

The young Hoops showed their resilience with a 5-4 victory over Charlton on Monday, and with players such as Osman Kakay, Olamide Shodipo and Reece Grego-Cox excelling for the under-23s, Hall says that his squad are edging closer to challenging for a place in Ian Holloway's side.

Speaking to GetWestLondon, He said: "The club have shown we can get players in with the first team.

"We have boys training with them but we want to show we can get players competing with them. That way if the pros aren’t doing it properly then these boys are ready and knocking on the door to come in.

"That’s what we want to enable the boys to do, and empower them to do so."
