QPR are aiming to sell 10,451 season tickets by December - and surprise themselves.

It would be an improvement by one on the 2015-16 sales, although Lee Hoos would even like a few more - see video above.

The Rs chief executive was expecting a dip before the new window opened in April.

But Hoos had his eyes when sales hit a healthy 9,000-plus, with considerably more expected to be snapped up by the end of the month.

The Rs chief believes the further you get from the Premier League, the fewer the season-ticket holders, but that's not the case as Hoops face up to a second Championship campaign.

"I expected a 12 per cent dip the further you go away from the Premier League," Hoos said. "Last season with corporates, hospitality and half-season tickets we had 10,450 something last season, and at the moment we're just over 9,000 right now - and I'm pleased with that.

"At the end of June last year there were 9,200.

"It looks as if we’ll be even with that this time, and with half-season ticket sales we might even have a slight increase on last season."
