Watching Patrick Agyemang tussle with defenders was a common sight in the noughties, but after hanging up his boots in 2015 it seemed that his playing days were over.

However, fast-forward two years and the 37-year-old has mounted a spectacular comeback into the game; with non-league Baffins Milton Rovers.

The Portsmouth-based side, who play in English football's ninth tier, tempted Agyemang out of retirement last month, before he featured in Saturday's 4-1 defeat against Horley in the FA Vase.

The striker started his career at Wimbledon, before spells at Preston, Brentford, QPR and Portsmouth, where Agyemang initially hung up his boots two years.

Despite being on the losing side with Baffins Milton Rovers on Saturday, the forward still managed to make quite an impression on the opposition manager.

Speaking of Agyemang's impact, Horley boss Glynn Stephens said: "He was still very good but he’s lost his legs a little bit so he wasn’t quite as mobile but if you get the ball up to him and then you couldn’t get it off him.

“He is very strong and obviously very, very gifted. He was a major player for them but we handled him well. It was a good experience for our players.”
