Notts County owner Alan Hardy admitted that drawing Brentford away in the FA Cup wasn't the draw he was hoping for.

The Magpies chief, understandably, wanted a payday against a Premier League side but, instead, will have to settle for a trip to Griffin Park.

But, there is a belief in the Magpies' camp that County can cause what would be considered an upset against a Bees side that have not picked up the points their performances have arguably deserved this season.

“We were hoping for a Premier League club, but we’re looking forward to it,” he told the Nottingham Post.

“They are a good side, but we will go into it with belief and confidence.

“And we will go there well prepared because the management team will do a very thorough job of looking at their strengths and weaknesses.

“It’s a good opportunity for us to progress to the fourth round.”

The Magpies have already beaten Bristol Rovers and Oxford City in the opening two rounds of the competition.
