NORTHWOOD TOWN begin their Herts Division Two league campaign with an away fixture at newly-promoted Kings Langley this Saturday.
Town will be looking to build on last year's excellent performances, as the first team finished seventh, having only been saved from relegation by two clubs merging the previous year.
The winter months have seen them busy assembling a strong squad for the new season and skipper Raj Ahluwalia is confident that he has on paper the strongest squad of his six years of captaincy.
Australian Brendan Heaney, a top order batsman and medium pace bowler, joins from Richmond Cricket Club, while Brendan Dwyer, an instrumental player for the club over previous years, has also announced his return to the club. Leading scorer from the last two years, Rohan Lee, makes up the trio of Australians playing for Town this season.
Northwood completed their pre-season matches with a five-wicket defeat at Cockfosters. Town posted 194-6, but Cockfosters eased home with a couple of overs to spare.
