Brentford FC have scrapped plans to reintroduce a reserve team at Griffin Park next season.
Bees boss Andy Scott exclusively told the Chronicle back in March that he wanted to bring back a second string side.
But the fact that Chelsea will continue to play their reserve team games at the Bees' ground have halted the plan in its tracks.
Scott said: "The Chelsea games would make it logisticly difficult to run a reserve team, so I've dropped the idea.
"But I am looking at playing more friendlies next season to keep our fringe players and those returning from injury fit."
