Brentford will travel to Derby confident they can inflict the first defeat of Steve McClaren's second spell at the iPro Stadium.

The Rams will be looking to build on the former England manager's return after they beat Leeds by a goal to nil on Saturday.

The Bees travel to the Midlands on the back of a 3-1 loss to Newcastle, but midfielder Ryan Woods believes his side have the ability to claim all three points.

He said: “It's going to be another tough game. They're another good side with good players who have been there and done it.

“They've got Steve McClaren back now and I'm sure he'll turn things around for them. We'll go there full of confidence. We're eighth in the table for a reason and we're a match for anybody.

Brentford stayed up north after the loss at St James' Park and Woods believes there is no difference between remaining there or returning to London.

He added: “We're a great group of lads. Whether we're staying up or not, it won't make a difference.

“We go over the game and forget about it and look forward to Tuesday and hopefully we can turn it around.”
