Manager Mark Warburton has ordered his Brentford troops to be braver in battle after they were beaten 3-0 at Rotherham tonight.

Two goals from Kieran Agard and a late Haris Vuckic strike at the New York Stadium put the skids on Brentford's seemingly unstoppable promotion charge.

Warburton has no complaints about being beaten by the better side on the night, and admits his side were not at the races.

He said: “First half we weren't brave enough. There was some tidy play in the middle but we never really threatened them. We need to be braver and the players know that. We lost the one on one battles in there.

“Second half we were better, but it wasn't our normal standard. In the end we were beaten by the better team. We now have to respond to that. You get out what you put into a game, and we were well below our usual standards.

“We will learn from that. The home fans were chanting 'easy, easy', which will have hurt the players as they are professionals. Their professional pride was hurt tonight, we are better than that. They had a fantastic response to the Wolves result, and they need to do it again.”
