Jose Mourinho insists he is happy with the FA Cup draw that has condemned Chelsea to the toughest possible tie – away to Man City at the Etihad.

The Blues manager says his team will relish the role of being underdogs and it will give his team the chance to measure their own progress when they meet on the weekend of February 15/16.

The teams are already due to meet at Etihad Stadium on Monday week in the league.

“That's good,” Mourinho said of the draw. “Our priority for the season is to improve and the best way to improve is [through] difficult things.

“To play against the best twice in 15 days in that stadium where they win every game – where they smash every team and score four or five goals every game, even against the big teams like Arsenal, Tottenham and United - is a good thing for us.

“We are playing very well, in my opinion, so it's good for us to play the best.”

Mourinho added: “If we lose, we lose against the best. If we don't lose, it's fantastic, so it's a good draw.

“We are ready to go there and enjoy. We are going to go there with a good attitude. We have nothing to lose. They have everything to lose.

“They are the team that was made to win. They have to feel now the same thing I was feeling here in 2004, 5, 6: 'We are the best team by far, we have to win, and if we don't it's because we did something wrong'.”
