Jose Mourinho will decide tomorrow whether to risk pitching Samuel Eto'o in for Chelsea's biggest game of the season.

The Cameroon striker missed the first leg against Paris Saint-Germain last week and remains doubtful because of a hamstring injury picked up in the 6-0 win over Arsenal.

But the Chelsea boss' loss of faith in Fernando Torres – and Eto's stronger showings at the Bridge this season – may well persuade Mourinho he has no option.

The 33-year-old striker took part in training at Cobham today.

In the first leg, Andre Schurrle played as a false number nine rather than Torres, but with goals needed, Mourinho will need greater firepower to turn around a 3-1 deficit.

“Is Eto'o fit fit?” Mourinho said. “I don't think he is, but play tomorrow? Maybe.”

At least Chelsea will not have to deal with the considerable threat of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has not recovered from the strain picked up in the first leg.

Not that Mourinho has any sympathy for Paris being without their best player.

He said: “Eto'o didn't play first game. Not sure he plays second. Ramires is suspended. [Nemanja] Matic and [Mohamed] Salah can't play in the Champions League, but we are not crying.

“If a rich club like Paris doesn't play one important player like Ibrahimovic, it's not a problem for them.”
