Jose Mourinho insists he will not try and stop Spanish striker Diego Costa going on international duty.

The Chelsea star is back in contention to face QPR on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring problem that has kept him out of the past four matches.

Costa hasn't played since Spain's games against Slovakia and Luxembourg in the October internationals.

But Mourinho says he won't stand in the 26-year-old's way if Vicente del Bosque selects him for their Euro 2016 qualifier with Belarus on November 15.

He said: "That's not my call, that's not my decision. I'm nobody to stand in the way. I cannot stop him from going.

"I'm always supportive of players playing for their countries when the players are in condition to do it and when the players in the national team follow the same kind of procedures to recover from the problems they have."
