Moses Odubajo knows he has made the right decision coming to Brentford – having seen them at close quarters last season.

The 20 year old former Millwall youth player made his Bees debut in Thursday night's 3-1 friendly win over Boreham Wood, winning a penalty for Brentford's first and generally looking lively.

He scored 15 goals in just over 100 appearances for Leyton Orient, including 12 strikes last season, and played in both games against the Bees – Orient's 2-0 win at Griffin Park in September and Brentford's 1-0 win at Brisbane Road in March.

First strike to them: Odubajo takes on Clayton Donaldson during Orient's 2-0 win at Griffin Park

He said: “In the first game, I just remember the atmosphere was incredible – everyone was on it that night. When the final whistle went we went mental, but perhaps we got over confident after that.

“But when we went back to our place and lost, Brentford really rubbed it in our faces, and we knew it was the play-offs for us.

“What I took from those games was seeing Brentford play high up the pitch with creativity and freedom, and I liked that, so I knew I had made the right move when I came here. I just had a feeling about it.

“I know they had been watching me for a while, so I always knew it was a option, and coming here made a lot of sense to me. It is a young up and coming squad. I know I've made the right decision.”

Revenge mission: Brentford got their own back with a 1-0 win at Orient which gave them one foot in the Championship

Odubajo also insists he will not allow his price tag to form a millstone around his neck next season.

Although the fee which saw the tricky winger move to Griffin Park remains undisclosed, it is believed he is Brentford's first ever £1million signing .

He added: “To be honest, it doesn't really bother me. Kids get bought for loads of money these days, and it's just about showing you're worth that amount. I don't feel any pressure at all.”
