Jermaine Jenas reckons that given the chance he will score even more goals than the one to earn Rangers a draw against Leeds.

The midfielder struck just before the break to cancel out a Leeds deflected free-kick, and insists Rangers have turned the corner despite no win in five games.

“We stopped the bleeding,” he said. “Last week at Charlton, we didn’t get a shot on target but this week we had a better blend of passes and shots.

“It was hard to take the deflected free-kick for their goal and – all in all for the first 60 minutes we deserved it, but they killed it in the second half.

“It was nice to be starting again. Last week I had to steady the ship. This time I was given more free rein to get forward and support. I knew the minute Kevin (Doyle) held it up I was in – and it was a good finish.

“I still think we can get automatic promotion, because this is a crazy league and if we can win our game in hand we’ll be right back up there.”
