Brentford's unbeaten pre-season run continued as they came from behind twice to claim victory over MK Dons, but what can we take from the victory?

Ryan Seager had put the Buckinghamshire side 1-0 up early on before Neal Maupay opened his account.

The MK forward capitalised on a misplaced backpass from Tom Field to Luke Daniels to restore the lead.

Ollie Watkins then found the net to equalise again before Florian Jozefzoon finished a fine Brentford move to seal the win.

Below, GetWestLondon analyses the 90 minutes in detail and where the Bees did well and where they need to improve before the real games take place.

What needs to be worked on?

Brentford were sloppy in the first half and allowed MK Dons to close them down too easily. It took them time to work out how to keep them at bay and there were some sloppy passes.

Those mistakes led to the Buckinghamshire side taking the lead twice and there were some concerned looks during the first half.

The defensive mistakes need to be eradicated as Brentford can't rely on scoring more than the opposition every week.

What were the good things?

Tom Field

In a word, character. This Brentford squad is packed full of it. They clearly worked out where they were going wrong at half-time and corrected it after showing flashes in the first half.

The second 45 minutes were dominant and Luke Daniels touched the ball on one occasion.

Going forward, once again, has been a joy to watch and Brentford play some lovely football. If we take the second equaliser, for instance, Ryan Woods played a delightful lofted pass to Henrik Dalsgaard before the Dane applied a perfectly weighted cross for Ollie Watkins to tuck home.

How is the squad shaping up?

Henrik Dalsgaard

Brentford made 10 changes and wound up beating a decent League One side and being worth the victory.

Henrik Dalsgaard performed to the level that Maxime Colin usually does for Brentford and I see an interesting battle developing for the right back role.

Ollie Watkins fitted straight into his advanced midfielder role and I can see him being a wildcard in the line-up with opposing players not knowing where he's going to play.

Neal Maupay showed a poacher's instinct with his goal and, as time goes on, the tug o' war with Lasse Vibe for the number nine shirt will be intense.

What's next?

Brentford conclude their pre-season fixture programme against Celta Vigo on Saturday.
