QPR face a slightly different challenge this evening as they prepare to welcome London rivals Millwall to Loftus Road.
The Hoops have made a promising start to the campaign, picking up 10 points from their opening six fixtures, including a run of three home wins on the spin in the league; something which they’ll be wanting to add to this evening.
This impressive record has come despite a difficult run of early fixtures in the Championship against a number of the league’s promotion contenders.
However what they face tonight is a different challenge.
Unlike previous opponents, the Lions are very much a side who will be looking to keep their heads above water this season, but that certainly doesn’t mean they can be taken lightly.
Millwall are conditioned in one way, and that’s to make life difficult for the opposition. That means approaching the game a no-nonsense, physical approach, meaning the emphasis will be very much on QPR dictate things.
Ian Holloway was not a man to shy away from a physical battle in his playing days, and he will expect his team to follow his lead in that sense, as he looks to get one over his former employers.
Many may expect the Hoops to win this evening, but this will depend on how they handle the battle, and it will be a battle, on the pitch.
It will be a night for experience and desire, something which Millwall will certainly be bringing in bundles, and QPR will need to be careful not to underestimated the challenge against a side who will be leaving everything on the field in an attempt to get one over on their London rivals.
