Sammy Moore blamed a criminal lack of concentration from AFC Wimbledon’s defeat to Cambridge United.

Matt Tubbs gave the Dons the lead with only a few seconds on the clock but Kwesi Appiah came back to haunt his old club and Liam Hughes completed the turnaround.

Hughes’ goal, a scrappy finish to send home Sullay Kaikai’s free-kick, was unacceptable in Moore’s view and left the midfielder cursing a lapse in focus.

“Everyone’s disappointed,” he told Dons Player. “We got off to a great start and then we switched off, although to be fair to Kwes it was a good finish.

“I thought we were the better side before they scored in the second half and then we switched off again for a set piece, which is criminal in this league.

“After that we looked disjointed and never got back in the game. We need to find some consistency in this league."

Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley was also frustrated with a lack of response after the Dons fell behind and felt his team lost their discipline.

“For 60 minutes it was an even game against a strong and well organised team,” he added.

“We cannot expect to roll these teams over. It was a poor reaction from us to going behind and that was the disappointing thing. We lost our shape and our discipline.

“We’re obviously disappointed, but there’s only one thing we can do now and that’s to pick ourselves up and go again.

“We will get to work and demand a reaction again. We got that after the Wycombe and Northampton games. We have to try and find that consistency.”
