Michy Batshuayi and Ola Aina are making their full Chelsea debuts in tonight’s EFL Cup tie with Bristol Rovers.

Belgian striker Batshuayi is a £33million summer signing from Marseille but has so far been playing second fiddle to Diego Costa.

But he has now been rewarded with his chance after setting up the winner on the opening weekend against West Ham and then inspiring a comeback from the bench at Waford.

Young defender Aina was impressed on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States as he rivalled Branislav Ivanovic for the Blues right-back slot.

He lines up alongside the more experienced trio of Gary Cahill, Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta in defence against Rovers as John Terry is given a rest.

Asmir Begovic, Cesc Fabregas and Victor Moses all start for the first time this season while Ruben Loftus-Cheek looks to be partnering Batshuayi in attack.

The one surprise in the Bristol Rovers team selection is that top marksman Matty Taylor drops to the bench at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea starting XI: Begovic, Aina, Cahill, Ivanovic (c), Azpilicueta, Pedro, Fabregas, Matic, Moses, Loftus-Cheek, Batshuayi.

Subs: Courtois, Terry, Chalobah, Oscar, Hazard, Solanke, Diego Costa.
