Rene Meulensteen wants to keep wantaway striker Dimitar Berbatov at Fulham.

The former Manchester United frontman's agent revealed the Bulgarian is unhappy at Craven Cottage and ready to quit the club in January.

However, Berbatov put in an impressive display as Fulham slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Spurs.

“I thought he was fantastic, he was unbelievable,” Meulensteen said.

“He led the line fantastically and I know really, really well what Dimitar is capable of doing because I worked with him [at Manchester United] for so long.

“I had some good chats with Dimitar and he is a player that really cares for this club and I thought that was evident tonight in the way he performed.”
